Dr. Rosenberger understands that surgery is often part of a huge, life-changing event and is committed to offering the highest quality, safest surgical experience to our patients at Center of Surgical Specialists.

Alan Rosenberger, MD is from Ohio, graduated from The Ohio State University and then the College of Medicine at OSU. In medical school he was honored by membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.

Dr. Rosenberger completed his surgical residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and its affiliated hospitals. He was Chief Resident in Surgery in 1982 at Denver General Hospital. Dr. Rosenberger is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Following residency, Dr. Rosenberger joined the esteemed surgical practice of Cleveland, Hutchison, Faraci and Law where he was active in General, Trauma, Vascular and Thoracic surgeries. An extensive Oncology experience was added during this period. Dr. Law and Dr. Rosenberger moved to the north metro area of Denver to devote more time to the “young” St. Anthony North hospital and the “brand new” Mountain View Hospital (now know as North Suburban Medical Center.) From this start, the Center of Surgical Specialists has evolved in partnership with Dr. Georgescu.

In the very late 1980’s and early 1990’s, Dr. Rosenberger was a pioneer in laparoscopic surgery. He helped take the dream for minimally invasive video-assisted surgical techniques to the standard of care in many operations. Scope-assisted general surgical and thoracic surgical procedures often offer a huge benefit to the patient with shorter hospital stays and much less post-operative discomfort.

Dr. Rosenberger continues to hold the position of Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado and is involved with medical student education when students come through CSS on their surgical rotations.

Dr. Rosenberger has held multiple leadership and Medical Staff positions in the St. Anthony and North Suburban hospital systems. These have included Chief of General Surgery, Chief of Trauma, Chief of Surgery, Medical Director of the Surgery Service Line and Vice Chairman of the St. Anthony North Medical Executive Committee. Also, Dr. Rosenberger has been a member on one or both hospitals’ Quality Assurance Committees and Operating Room Function Committees nearly continuously since the mid 1980's. This is a commitment to quality and safety in the institutions with whom he partners for the surgical care of patients.
